Greetings everyone ! We hope your summer is going well. Word on the street is the trails are green and grass is everywhere. All that fabulous snow we had last winter has made for some great growing conditions and the fire danger has been manageable all summer. Lets hope we can get more of the same this season. Although, the long term prediction is for an El Nino trend in the weather. That means a warm and dry winter. All we can do is hope it snows like crazy up there again..
We are going to have our annual work day event Saturday, October 7th. Several SCTA board members will be at the trails to log in some work hours to satisfy our grant requirements for grooming funds. We need 70 hours of volunteer work to match our grant requirement.
If you would like to come up and help out Silver Crest Trails, we would love to have you. We will meet at 10:00 am at the trailhead. We will be doing the usual small tree cutting mostly. Maybe some firewood cutting also. Please bring some loppers and work gloves, sturdy work boots, rain and cold weather clothing, water, snacks and any other personal gear you need.
Lunch and drinks will be provided again.
We had a great group of volunteers last year and got to know some new people who ski on the trails.
Hope to see you there !
Bob
