We will be hosting a ski-joring ( with dogs ) event this Friday (20th) and Sat (21st) at Silvercrest Trails. This will be a recreational level event to see if a larger race is feasible for next year. The hours will be from sunrise to noon both days. The outer loops will be reserved for the racers and their canine athletes for safety issues. You can ski the inside trails ( Wu Tang, Silverdyke, Quicksilver with no interference. We will have SCTA members there to inform skiers and let people know what is going on. We will groom the trails Friday and Saturday for classic and skate skiing. Ski-joring is very popular in larger populated areas and we have a few local residents who are organizing and participating in this event. SCTA is viewing this as a way to diversify the trails and to enhance our status as a multi-use area. If you are planning on skiing/snowshoeing this weekend come a little early and watch some good skiers and good dogs having a lot of fun.
