Jake is going to groom Thursday evening this week so Friday should be good for classic and skate skiing if the warm temperatures allow it. Thanks again Jake ! If plans change we will post them asap. We can groom the trails but we can’t make it colder. High temps this week will be 48 F ( typically around 2 pm) for Thursday and Friday. Mid to low 40’s for Saturday/Sunday. Finally into the 30’s for early next week. We don’t know how the warm temps are going to affect your skis but typically wet, warm snow will stick with no glide and no fun for the rest of the day. Especially on a sunny day. Even “no wax, fish scale” skis are vulnerable to this. You can buy a liquid, easy to apply wax for the temp range at Bighorn Outdoor Specialists. Talk to their staff for the correct product for warm weather skiing. I like SWIX PRO HS 10 roll on wax. It has a temperature range of 36F to 50F. You can order their products on-line many places. http://www.gearwest.com has a wide selection.
Saturday is Winter Trails Days at Silvercrest. Lots of folks will be out snowshoeing and trying out skiing ! Get Fit Great Falls is leading the event in conjunction with U.S. Forest Service, Montana Discovery Foundation and Wild Montana who are also helping out. Partners and sponsors are Big Horn Outdoors Specialists, Benefis, North Forty and Scheels. Thanks to all of the organizations involved !
