Saturday Jan,31st

It was beautiful today and lots of skiers showed up to get outside and enjoyed the sun and pleasent weather. The parking lot was 3/4 full. We welcome all the folks who are driving from all over central Montana to Silver Crest Trails and hope you can get in some good skiing in this snow drought winter (so far). We are still hanging around two feet at the trail head area and hopefully we can maintain it and keep it skiable until winter shows up. If you don’t know this…we contract with KIngs Hill Grooming Association to use their Pisten Bully on our trails once a week to level and compact the snow. We did that several weeks ago once and it made a big improvement and a solid base to start the season. Thanks KHGA ! But since then not enough snow has come down to keep the Pisten Bully safe from rocks, dirt, stumps etc. SCTA has been grooming with our equipment on a steady basis and the trails are in pretty good condition ( so far ).

We groomed Friday and Saturday. Thanks Jake ! Also Saturday evening partially because of all of our skiers today ! We didn’t get all of the trails due to time limits. So Sunday will have most of the trails regroomed for skating , not all though. The classic tracks are holding up pretty well.

I have been getting questions about dogs on the ski/snowshoe trails. Dogs are allowed on the snowshoe trails, not on the ski trails though. Please be understanding if there are dogs in the parking lot and trailhead area leading to the snowshoe trails.

The weather this week. No snow predicted. (Maybe a little Monday night). Early in the week highs mid 30’s. Mid week highs in the mid/high 40’s.

Thanks everyone !

Bob
