Hi everyone. Nine of us removed the remaining downed trees on Mt Eureka trail yesterday with just one section of Gold Run still to be checked. We still need to clean up some remaining cut up logs and branches off the trails edge. Total trees downed and removed were about twenty. Big Thanks and gratitude to our volunteers who worked hard yesterday. Johnathan Bingham and their children ( talented kids, they can chuck wood with their skis on ! ). Jackson Storm. Dorian and Emily Antipa. Silver Crest Trails members Mary Courteau and Nola Bingham also.
Nordic centers all over the west experienced the wind event that knocked down our trees and they are scrambling to clean up their trails also.
Now we need to groom the trails as best we can. The Kings Hill Grooming Association’s Pisten Bully is not available until a lot more snow comes. We have about 17 inches now. We have packed with our rollers enough for a good base. We will try to level the trails as best we can with the ginzu groomers. The base is hard now with the wet snow freezing yesterday. There is not much powder on top to set good classic tracks. We need more snow. We will keep grooming and report conditions here.
Thanks again to all of our volunteers last week and yesterday that helped out to get this done !
Bob
