We are planning our usual routine of the KHGA Pisten Bully going thru our trails Thursday night and classic track setting late in the afternoon Friday. The weather forcast is for 3 to 7 inches new snow daytime Friday so there will be some powder until we can get to it later in the day. The temps will be on the cool side again… 18 F Thursday, 12 F Friday, 14 F Saturday, 13 F Sunday. SCTA will be hosting our annual Learn to Ski Clinic Saturday (8th) starting at 9:30 am and going to 4:00 pm. There are no restrictions on trail usage during the clinic.
There is also a Great Falls Snowmobile Club rally Saturday at Silver Crest with many folks expected to attend. The parking lot could be filled near capacity so please be aware and patient if it gets congested. The snowmobilers have been asked to keep to the lower lots as much as possible and snowshoers/skiers to park in the trailhead lot only. Hopefully things will work out !
At the request of the USFS and the Great Falls Snowmobile Club…..If you are coming to the ski clinic from Great Falls and are new to the area…please be aware that there is a snowmobile crossing on Hiway 89 north ( past Neihart ) right before the turnoff to our parking lot. The crossing looks like an established road but it is not. If you mistakenly drive down the trail you will get stuck in deep snow. Drive another 150 yards on the Hiway past the parking information sign and turn right to our parking area.
